American University Park
American University Park is a neighborhood located in northwest Washington, D.C. tucked against the Maryland border. Named after American University, this community is considered the area between Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Western avenues. American University Park is made up of mostly single family homes built in a variety of architectural styles. Homes were built in close proximity, often with front porches, to encourage friendly neighbors to stop by and create a close-knit community. Housing here is more affordable than in many of its surrounding neighborhoods, making it popular with young families. Residents of American University Park enjoy numerous community activities as well as take advantage of nearby shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities. Friendship Park – considered the hub of the community – hosts many special activities and events.
